I need help!

29 June, 2008 (21:45) | Jewelry making, Crafting | By: User ImageKim

Well my jewelry making activities are almost at an end.  I have enough wire left to make five more bracelets and when they are finished I will have run out of wire.  I don’t want to purchase any more supplies until I sell some more items so I’ll be using my profit money to buy these supplies and not our household funds.

This is where you all come in.  I do have enough materials to make about 20 pairs of earrings, but for the life of me I can’t figure out how to get the top wire wrapped around the strait pins.  Someone told me that I needed a small pair of needle nose pliers so I went out and purchased them, but still haven’t been able to master the art of making earrings.

So for all you experts out there, this question is going out to all  of you.  How do you get your wire wrapped around the strait pin?  Is there a trick that I’m not aware of?

I’m thanking you all in advance for any help and assistance that you may be able to give me in this matter.

Hi Kim, well I am not sure if you have found the information that you were looking for or not. I have not used headpins in awhile, but when I have made earring using them I found info on the net around wrapping a loop and that is the method that I have used. But I gotta tell you it does take practice…I used to get some headpins that were quite soft and those were not too hard to wrap, but the majority of head pins are quite difficult, as they are hard. One other option if you have headpins that are hard is to make a loop without wrapping, like a rosary loop. I am sending you some of the links that I found had good instructions and pictures. I hope this helps. If I can help you more please let me know.
