I need help!

29 June, 2008 (21:45) | Jewelry making, Crafting | By: User ImageKim

Well my jewelry making activities are almost at an end.  I have enough wire left to make five more bracelets and when they are finished I will have run out of wire.  I don’t want to purchase any more supplies until I sell some more items so I’ll be using my profit money to buy these supplies and not our household funds.

This is where you all come in.  I do have enough materials to make about 20 pairs of earrings, but for the life of me I can’t figure out how to get the top wire wrapped around the strait pins.  Someone told me that I needed a small pair of needle nose pliers so I went out and purchased them, but still haven’t been able to master the art of making earrings.

So for all you experts out there, this question is going out to all  of you.  How do you get your wire wrapped around the strait pin?  Is there a trick that I’m not aware of?

I’m thanking you all in advance for any help and assistance that you may be able to give me in this matter.

More bracelets for sale

26 June, 2008 (19:34) | For Sale, Homemade Jewelry | By: User ImageKim

The past couple of days I have been busy creating. I’m trying to get as much jewelry made as possible to hand over to my friend at the end of next month. She is going to take everything I have to a couple of major craft sales and try to sell them for me. So I’m working continuously at this. The following is four bracelets that I have made. If any of these pieces interest you, they are being sold at $7.50 a piece with a charge of $2.00 for shipping. Or if you buy two pieces of any of my jewelry on this site, I will pay the shipping for you! So here are the four pieces I have recently made.

If you would like to make a purchase, then all you need to do is leave a comment on this site or you can e-mail me directly at kdarrell21@hotmail.com. I look forward to hearing from you all!

More jewelry

23 June, 2008 (17:25) | For Sale, Homemade Jewelry | By: User ImageKim

Last week I went on a mission to see how much jewelry I could create. With it being the kids final days of school and being quite busy with all their activities I didn’t accomplish as much as I wanted, but I was able to create four three pieces of jewelry. The fourth one turned out so wrong that I ended up taking it all out and starting from scratch. Well here are the three pieces I did manage to get done. Hopefully this week I will be able to do more as the kids are enrolled in summer day camp so I have extra time on my hands.

These pieces can be purchased through this site. The single stranded pink and green necklace will be sold for $12.00 each plus $2.00 shipping and the three stranded pink bracelet will be sold for $15.00 plus $2.00 shipping. If any of these items interest you and you would like to make a purchase, all you need to do is leave a comment on this site or contact me at kdarrell21@hotmail.com.

I look forward to hearing from you.

Busy creating

19 June, 2008 (13:25) | Homemade Jewelry, Jewelry making | By: User ImageKim

For the past few days I have been busy creating newer pieces of jewelry. No I don’t have any pictures ready just yet, but when I have more made I’ll be posting the pictures. Monday was kind of a waste of a day because the piece I did make I ended up hating it and taking it all out. Yesterday was a better day as the bracelet I made turned out awesome. Today I’m going to try to make a couple of necklaces and hopefully the first of next week I will be able to show you some work in progress.

The kids final day of school is tomorrow so I don’t know how much I’ll get done this next eight weeks. Hopefully I’ll be able to do some work in the evenings after they have gone to bed. But if not, I’m not going to worry about it. I know it will all get done eventually. So if you’ve been wondering what I’ve been up to, now you know.

This blog has been featured

16 June, 2008 (14:38) | Crafting, General | By: User ImageKim

This is way cool!! Tony over at Moolah Blog! is doing some reviews on sites that he appreciates and he has picked this blog as his very first feature. Now your all probably wondering why he chose my crafting blog for his feature and I’m going to tell you why.

Last week Tony indicated that he would like to make a purchase of one of my pieces of jewelry that I have currently for sale. After a few e-mails back and forth, we were able to come up with a piece that he wanted to buy for his “special someone” and we worked out a deal. He placed the order and I shipped it. He was a wonderful buyer and I also got to know a little about his personality through this e-mails as well. He is very generous with his time and he is also a really nice guy.

So if you’d like to read about all the wonderful things Tony had to say about this site and me, then why not drop by his site. Tell him Kim sent you. And if you would like your own review from him, all you need to do is ask.

Thanks for your wonderful review Tony and I can’t wait until you get your package and are able to give it to your special lady!

The crafter behind the crafting

11 June, 2008 (23:03) | Miscellaneous, Crafting | By: User ImageKim

So I have been posting on this blog quite steadily for the past month now and decided that it’s probably time for you all to meet me face to face.

Well this is me. Ball cap and all. It is very rare that I ever go without my ball cap so I thought it was only fitting that I show you all a picture of me in one. I always like blogs that show a picture of the owner so you get to put a face with the name. Although it’s not a wonderful glamourous picture of me, it is a picture of the real me. I look quite honest now don’t I?? LOL So if you’ve been wondering “who is Kim”, now you know.

Happy Monday!

9 June, 2008 (13:12) | General | By: User ImageKim

I don’t think I’ve ever been so happy to see a Monday arrive in my life!  Last week my hubby was home from work on holidays and I got absolutely nothing done.  No housework and more importantly: NO CRAFTS!!  That was not good.  I just couldn’t seem to find the time to even think about starting or finishing any crafts.  But now with him back to work and me having the entire house to myself, I plan to get back at it.  First I have a lot of housework to do and then I will be digging out the crafts once again.  So hopefully later in the week I will have enough accomplished to begin posting pictures.  I love “hubby” to death, but man am I ever happy to see last week end!

Not much crafting done

5 June, 2008 (19:25) | Crafting, General | By: User ImageKim

With hubby home this past week, I haven’t been able to work on any crafts.  When he’s home it’s worse than having the two younger kids home.  He seems to need more care. lol  He is always wanting to run the roads or spend time with me.  I guess there could be worse things in life.

He goes back to work next week so hopefully I will get back at the crafting once again.  I have two weeks left before the kids are out of the school for the summer so I would like to get as much done as I can in these next two weeks.  With two little people home and underfoot I can’t see me having a whole lot of time to devote to my crafting business.  But we will see.  And what doesn’t get done over the summer will get completed in September.

Advertising my business

2 June, 2008 (20:36) | General | By: User ImageKim

When I first set up this blog it was the express intention of trying to sell my home made jewelry. After posting on it for a while I discovered that I really wasn’t getting the traffic needed to generate any sales. So about a month ago I signed this blog up with a pretty neat traffic exchange. This program is called Entrecard and it has worked amazingly to give me the traffic that I so desperately needed. I haven’t seen any sales yet, but I haven’t given up hope.

So this is a post to thank my top droppers from Entrecard that have stopped by and visited this site. I’m going to try to do a post like this every month so if you would like to get on my top droppers list all you need to do is to keep dropping those cards. I’ll see you all again in July.

Thanks guys! I really do appreciate your visits.
